In 1978, Alongside Ministry was launched in Fresno, California, under the Missions ministry of the First Presbyterian Church. In 1983, the organization incorporated in Seattle, Washington, as a 501©(3) Christian ministry, having emerged from a short-term sending and receiving ministry to an international training and sending mission with long-term “Alongsiders’ serving in Europe, Great Britain, and North America.

Our mission is sustained by more than 100 churches and 3800 individuals who support missionaries working alongside Christian leaders and churches in Albania, Estonia, France, Germany, Scotland, and North America.
