Amanda McLamb, an Alongsider at Crossroads Church in Ferney-Voltaire, France
My journey with Alongside Ministries International began when I responded to an opportunity to work alongside the Church of Scotland in children’s ministry. I had spent some time already working in church ministry in Scotland, and had been praying for an opportunity to return.
I participated in Alongside Discovery 2004, a cross-cultural conference for collegians in France. Since that summer, with small steps God has faithfully guided and prepared me for cross- cultural ministry in Europe.
Subsequently, I served a year alongside a church in Aberdeen, Scotland. I returned to France as a leader in Alongside Discovery 2008, and later that autumn I spent two months living and traveling in France with our European Directors. During this time we traveled across France to visit pastors and explore new partnerships for Alongside Ministry in France.
I continued to be amazed at the abundance of God’s blessings as He affirmed my next steps to come to France in preparation to serve in cross-cultural church ministry long-term.
In early 2009, I worked in the Alongside Ministries office in California, and later that year returned to Europe to work alongside the children's ministry team at Crossroads Church in Ferney-Voltaire, France. Crossroads Church is an international church across the border from Geneva, Switzerland. I will be at Crossroads Church for two years while also continuing French language studies.
