Statement of Faith

We believe in God: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matt. 28:19, II Cor. 13:14, John 20.21-13).

We believe the Bible, including the Old and New Testaments, to be the Word of God and His revelation for the salvation of humankind. God’s Word is His standard for personal and corporate life in the Body of Christ and is authoritative for the believer (II Tim. 3:16-17).

We believe that Jesus Christ is the visible expression of the invisible God (Col. 1:15). Christ, the eternal Son of God, became human (John 1:1-5). He died upon the cross to make atonement for our sin (John 1:29, Mark 10:45). He physically rose from the dead (I Cor. 15:3-7) and will return personally, bodily and visibly to set up His Kingdom and judge the world (I Thess. 4:13-18).

We believe that all people have sinned and come short of God’s glory (Rom. 3:23) and that Christ is the only means of reconciliation between the Holy God and a sinful person (Rom. 5:1, Col. 1:18-20).

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the head of His Body, the Church (Eph. 5:23) and works through His Church for the reconciliation of the whole world (I Cor. 12:25-27, II Cor. 5:18-20).

We believe that God promises a new heart and can make a person new (Ez. 36:26-27, II Cor. 5:17). This comes through repentance for sin and reliance upon Christ as Savior and Lord (Rom. 10:9-11).

We believe and affirm both the Nicene and Apostles’ Creeds.

May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
